Review: Marvell Lane Busty Basics Bra (Size 10GG)
Have you ever been turned away from a bra shop because they don’t stock your size?
Have you spent a small fortune on bras that now sit in your closet because they just don’t work?
Have you tried every brand the internet “swears by” — Panache, Freya, Triumph, and more — only to be disappointed?
And have you worn bras you were professionally fitted for, only to have them hurt your ribs, cut into your arms, leave scars on your sides or along your cleavage, gape at the top, or come with straps so long they might as well be decorative because they can’t be adjusted enough?
If you said yes to any (or all!) of these, I completely understand your hesitation. I’ve been there. But I can confidently say: this bra is not like the others. You genuinely should give it a try.
My first purchase from Marvell Lane was actually a sizing mistake — totally my fault. It was late at night, I was tired, and I couldn’t bring myself to get up and measure yet again for another bra I wasn’t convinced would work. While that order was on its way, I happened to visit a big-bust specialty shop and got properly measured… only to realise I’d chosen the wrong band size in my Marvell Lane order.
When the bra arrived, I had it altered in the band — and that’s when everything changed. For the first time, I had a bra that made my bust look amazing and made me feel genuinely good. No pain. No digging. No constant awareness of wearing a bra. I could actually forget I even had it on.
So when Black Friday rolled around, I didn’t hesitate. I ordered the Busty Basics Bra again, this time in my correct size — and I am still completely in love with it.
If you’re skeptical because you’ve tried everything else, I get it. But this bra truly stands out, and for me, it’s been worth every cent.
As someone who has always worn moulded cups, I was worried that a soft cup might give me an odd shape or show too much nipple outline. But don’t worry — this fabric is nothing like that. It gives a beautiful, natural shape with no show-through, and I couldn’t be happier with how it looks and feels.

I love the bra and the way it shapes me, I can only wear it for a few hours as the band is a little loose and rubs on my chest and because of that the wires are uncomfortable and the band and wires rub about 2 inches under the bust. It’s the closet I’ve been able to find to a good fit including in shop fittings. Cotton lining would be great add for my skin however I do like the mesh look. In most shop fittings I’ve been told I’m a 14HH but they have all run small. I think I am at 12L but this size is impossible to find so this will have to do.

This bra is a great quality and colour. Love the thick straps and supportive band, and adjustable straps. I do find the underwire at the front a bit too hard though (hurts my ribs after a short while) - this is something I found in another ML bra too and it's possible I am more sensitive to the pain due to fibromyalgia, so maybe ML's underwires are just not for me. I am also a little bummed to discover that the seam across the cups is very visible under everything I've worn over it so far, which makes me less keen to wear it. So I guess it is not as comfy or easy to wear as I hoped for an everyday bra, but I am keen to try the new crop for that! As usual, ML has done an amazing job - just a couple features that haven't ticked all the boxes for me personally.

As a big bust, small waist girl, finding a good bra that actually fits and doesn’t pinch anywhere or have spillage over the top is so so so hard. Not to mention it being both comfortable and not looking like a granny bra. These bras did just that. I’m so happy! I went with an online fitting and sent in photos and measurements, the response was fast and the woman that helped me gave me two options for sizing. She recommended my smaller size for the Basic collection and its sister size for the Evie, since it’s more structured. Overall I’m happy with this bra, but it does set my breasts wider set than I’m used too, but after a few wears I am used to the set and it is supportive in all the right places and is very comfortable.

Love the idea behind this bra. It’s always difficult to find a larger cup size bra that you can wear with lower cut tops. However, the seaming in the cup is very visible, even with thicker material shirts. I also had to size up from my typical 32G to a 34H in this bra and maybe could even go up another size.

The seams are really, really horrible across the cups. This was so close to being a great bra but the seams look all puckered and like a grandma bra and under a tshirt look absolutely terrible. I dont know how you can sell something as a “basic” when it us unwearable under a tshirt.

I'm not sure who loves this bra more -- me or my husband! I am a 32DDD/10E, so bra shopping is difficult with my small band and large bust. My boobs also hang low, and standard bras don't offer sufficient support and lift. My family and husband have always complained that I need better bras.
